From Good To Great
Support for Writers
Who Want to Go Deeper
I work with writers through 1:1 coaching and the
Story Matters Writers Program.
This is one-to-one work for writers who want steady, personal support as they return to the page, deepen their practice, or move a meaningful project forward.
Our sessions create space to slow down, listen closely, and work with what’s actually present — your questions, your resistance, your ideas, and your voice. The focus is on clarity, direction, and building habits that make writing possible over time.
This work isn’t about quick fixes or external pressure. It’s about attention, consistency, and making room for the work that matters to you.
$150 PER SESSION (OR $400 PER MONTH - 4 WEEKLY SESSIONS)
There’s no long-term commitment required — we can begin with a single session.

One-to-one coaching with Paul is a focused, practical space for writers to think clearly, talk honestly, and make steady progress on the work that matters to them.
These sessions are conversational and grounded. We pay attention to where you are right now — what you’re writing, what’s getting in the way, and what would help you move forward with more confidence and consistency.
Rather than prescriptions or pressure, the work centres on clarity, reflection, and realistic next steps you can actually sustain.
What this looks like in practice:
Clarifying the Work:
We take time to understand what you’re trying to write and why it matters to you. This often brings focus to projects that have felt scattered, stalled, or overwhelming.
Working Through Resistance:
We talk openly about hesitation, doubt, and avoidance — not to eliminate them, but to work with them in ways that support your writing rather than shut it down.
Building a Practice That Holds the Work:
Together, we shape habits, rhythms, and expectations that fit your life, so the writing has somewhere to live beyond a single burst of motivation.
Session Duration & Format
Each session is 90 minutes and takes place via a private, secure video call. The longer format allows time to settle in, think carefully, and work without rushing.
Between Sessions
Some writers like light prompts or simple experiments between sessions; others prefer to let the conversation do the work. We’ll decide together what’s useful for you — nothing busy, nothing performative.
This work asks for presence and honesty — a willingness to show up as you are and to give your writing some protected time and attention.
You don’t need certainty or confidence to begin. You do need a genuine interest in engaging with the work and seeing what becomes possible when you take it seriously.

For writers who are ready to begin with one-to-one support.
Story Matters is a structured, small-group program designed to help writers turn “one day” into Day One — and then keep going.
Over the course of the program, writers work through the core elements of story and practice in a steady, supported rhythm. Group learning, guided exercises, and private coaching workshops are woven together to support both craft and follow-through.
This is not a quick-fix course or a one-off workshop. It’s an extended engagement with your writing — one that makes room for reflection, experimentation, and sustained attention.

A Clear, Supportive Structure: The program unfolds across a series of weekly online sessions, combining group classes with private coaching workshops to support learning and application.
Foundational Story Work: We move carefully through theme, character, story world, structure, and voice — attending not just to technique, but to meaning.
Guided Practice: Weekly exercises and milestones help you return to the page with intention, without pressure or perfectionism.
Individual Attention Within the Group: Private coaching workshops and regular check-ins provide space for personal questions, feedback, and course-correction.
A Project Taken Seriously: In the later phase of the program, writers workshop a project of their choice and carry it toward completion — by staying with the work rather than rushing it.
A 30-minute, no-pressure conversation to explore fit and next steps.
For writers who already know this program is the right next step.

The way he helps you break down you story and develop your characters helps him stand apart from other teachers I've had.
